In this episode of the podcast I dissect the first 5 pages of a spec script. The script was sent in to me by a writer who contributed to my Kickstarter campaign and choose this as their reward. I also talk to Max Landis about his new film, Mr. Right, starring Anna Kendrick and Sam Rockwell.

Not to beat a dead horse or belabor the tedium of even a promising script, I’d say the best acid-test for a screenplay is whether it’s a page turner or not, and 5 pages is all you need. If you can’t do that or force yourself to well… Since screenplays are already cursed with an awkward easy-to-ignore format, this acid-reflux test is cheap and reliable, but you have to give the heart burn test to somebody else cuz you can always force yourself to read your own material. Good luck.
